
Admissions
eligibility requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor degree from a US accredited institution recognized by CHEA (or an international degree evaluated as comparable by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE).
- If not a graduate of a US High School or college, an IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) is required.
- Successful completion of State Praxis Exam as required
- Successful completion of interview and writing activities
- Min 2.5 GPA (Bachelor degree)
- Must be over 18-years of age and verify ID
- Must have access to a computer and internet that can use Coursesites and the Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Must be able to attend in-residence programs each term
- Preference is given to those who express a desire to teach in Hawai’i or are employed in a Hawaiian Focused Charter School.
- A writing activity,
- Interview,
- official transcripts,
- other documents as requested (salary advice or pay slip)
Technology Requirements
It is the responsibility of the student to provide the required technology for study in Kahoʻiwai as outlined below.
- Access to a laptop or computer
- Access to the Internet for program communications and to complete coursework
- Blackboard Open LMS (provided by Kahoʻiwai)
- Populi College Management System (provided by Kahoʻiwai)
- G Suite for Education (provided by Kahoʻiwai)
- Microsoft Office Suite (provided by the student)

Second, it helps to rule out browser-related issues. If you are having problems in one browser and not another, then you know there is something going on with your browser or its settings. If you are having the same problem in multiple browsers, then you’ll know that it is either a system issue or something related to Blackboard.
Java
Java is a programming language and software platform that is required for certain features of Blackboard to function properly. Some of the important features of Blackboard which use Java include assessments, surveys, discussions, file uploading, and downloading.
